Miranda Sherrell named 2019 Outstanding Senior in English, WSU Pullman<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlive with curiosity\u201d is how one of Miranda Sherrell\u2019s English professors describes the department\u2019s Outstanding Senior of 2019, Pullman campus.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cMiranda brings life, energy, and enthusiasm to every aspect of her studies at WSU,\u201d said Clinical Associate Professor LeeAnn Hunter. \u201cFrom the moment she enters a classroom, she comes alive with curiosity,\u201d Hunter said. \u201cShe is an outstanding senior because she helps everyone else around her become their best and most outstanding selves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sherrell graduated in May with a bachelor of arts degree in English and specializations in rhetoric and professional writing. She came to WSU as a transfer student from Walla Walla, Washington, and worked on the Pullman campus as an intern in the English department and as a resident assistant in Orton Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An avid videographer and writer, she produced a short film about a Skagit Valley farm as part of a summer internship and worked two summers as a production assistant for American Movie Company. She also served as assistant producer for the Spokane Women in Film & Television organization on a short film about women\u2019s marches in Spokane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is wonderful to feel appreciated and acknowledged for the work I have done here at Washington State University,\u201d Miranda said upon being selected Outstanding Senior in English. \u201cThe time I have had at the Department of English  has been a thoroughly positive and influential experience and it is an honor to receive this award.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miranda hopes to attend Chapman University in Orange County, California, to pursue a dual master\u2019s degree in entertainment law and film production and to earn a degree in law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Arts and Sciences honored Miranda at its annual awards event for Outstanding Seniors in all CAS academic units.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n
