Alumni and Job Placement

Graduate Student Placement

WSU’s Department of English is committed to supporting its graduate students throughout their training and job search. Mentors and program directors, including our job placement faculty, work closely with students to identify their particular career interests—academic and non-academic—and develop an effective, comprehensive set of application materials (CVs, letters, teaching portfolios). We also offer professional development events and regularly conduct mock interviews to help students prepare for the job market.

These efforts have helped our students successfully secure a range of full-time positions in higher-education institutions and beyond. Our department is committed to providing comprehensive, transparent information for prospective students. Listed below are the initial search outcomes for recent PhD graduates.
