Biography

Alex Kuo is Professor Emeritus in English. He taught creative writing (fiction, poetry, non-fiction), Native American literature and western American culture.

Publications

His publications include more than 350 poems, stories, essays and photographs in magazines, newspapers and anthologies, and the books The Window Tree (poems) in 1974, New Letters from Hiroshima (poems) in 1974, Changing the River (poems) in 1986, Chinese Opera (novel) in 1998, This Fierce Geography (poems) in 1998,Lipstick and Other Stories (short stories) in 2001, Panda Diaries (novel) in 2006.Lipstick and Other Stories was awarded the American Book Award for Fiction in 2002.

Three new books: My Private China, shanghai.shanghai.shanghai, Meeting Words at the Gate, and Mao’s Kisses A Novel of June 4, 1878
