Overview

The English Graduate Organization, known affectionately as EGO, is a five-year-old organization that is dedicated to the advancement of graduate students within the organization.

EGO’s mission is to recognize, assess, and help resolve the needs of graduate students. EGO also serves as a networking group that sponsors lectures, holds round-table discussions and showcases graduate research at the annual Globalization, Diversity & Education Conference.

The Education Graduate Organization in the English Department currently offers four awards.

Faculty in English can receive the following awards although they have no monetary award attached:
Best Seminar of the Year
Most Supportive Faculty

The following two awards come with a $100 award:

EGO Service Award for MA Student
This award is for the master’s student who did the most positive service for the English graduate program/English graduate student body during the year.

EGO Service Award for PhD Student
This award is for the PhD student who did the most positive service for the English graduate program/English graduate student body during the year.
