Anti-Racism

In late spring 2020, the composition program issued its open statement on Black Lives Matter.  In summer 2020, the Anti-Racist Comp (ARC) pedagogy group was formed as an official sub-committee of the Composition Committee. ARC has been meeting regularly to create an action plan for undertaking this work. Recognizing that lasting change is a marathon and not a sprint, we have identified four broad action areas:

We have begun planning in some of these areas and continue to work towards a full action plan. In order to hold ourselves accountable for our promises, we want to make these plans visible and public.
